Cultivate Care Farms Secures Permanent Home for Farm-Based Therapy
On January 17, 2025, Cultivate Care Farms (CCF) officially closed on the purchase of the historic Sawyer property in Bolton, Massachusetts—an achievement made possible by the unwavering support of our incredible community. From donors and clients to local partners, Farm neighbors, and our dedicated staff and board, this milestone belongs to everyone who believes in the transformative power of Farm-Based Therapy (FBT).
The journey to secure a permanent home for the Farm began in August 2024 with the Cultivating Community: Building a Foundation of Healing and Wellness Campaign. In just six months, this campaign has raised over $108,000 toward its Phase 1 goal of $450,000, funds that will go directly toward critical improvements: repairing the roof and exterior envelope of the historic barn and beginning construction on a workshop makerspace in the newer garage addition. These projects will ensure that the Farm’s facilities remain safe, functional, and equipped to support the community's needs.
Now we can turn our focus to the future—expanding access to mental health care, strengthening our programs, and securing Farm-Based Therapy as a long-term resource for children, adolescents, and families. “This moment marks the beginning of a new chapter for Cultivate Care Farms,” said Megan Moran, LMHC, Executive Director of CCF. “Owning this land allows us to deepen our commitment to providing a therapeutic environment where young people can heal. With a permanent home, we can expand our services, grow our reach, and make Farm-Based Therapy a lasting resource for our community. This wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our donors, our clients and their families, our neighbors, and the many partners who have supported this vision.”
This achievement is more than just a real estate transaction—it is a promise to the many people who rely on the Farm’s innovative approach to mental health care. It is a commitment to ensuring that families facing mental health challenges have a place to turn. And it is a testament to the strength and generosity of a community that believes in the power of connection, resilience, and healing.
