Individual Farm-Based Therapy

Cultivate Care Farms offers therapy services for individuals at our 1840s farmhouse in Bolton, Massachusetts. Farm-based therapy involves a licensed clinician that works alongside a client on our grounds. Some clients might spend more time outdoors collecting chicken eggs or feeding the animals—while others might find more benefit in creating art of their favorite animals or helping us grow and harvest vegetables. We currently serve youth, teens, and young adults.

We start the process by getting to know the needs of our client. We have sessions available for weekdays. We accept insurance and private pay. BCBS, Tufts, United Health Care, Beacon & Evernorth are some of our carriers. We have a scholarship application for those in need of financial assistance.

Group Farm-Based Therapy

Therapeutic groups are a great way to get support  and validation from mental health facilitators and same-aged peers. If you’re looking for a safe space to be yourself and connect with others, there are group options at the farm for most age groups.

Groups are drop-in, but if there is a waiting list, we cannot keep spots open for inconsistent attendance. Although some groups are more active on the farm than others, all group members are encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes, pants, and clothing appropriate for the weather; to come willing to get dirty.

Sustainability Group

Ages: 8-12
Schedule: Thursdays 4-5pm
Group Leader: Rosie Cohen

Sustainability is an ethic of care that supports the health and well-being of animals, land, and people. Through sustainability projects, members of this group will practice problem-solving skills and nurture healthy social connections within the farm community. In session, the group may participate in farm chores, gardening, repurposing and repair projects, art making with found objects, and other creative acts of service that support the farm community. In this process, group members will be encouraged to explore their personal values as they relate to the value of sustainability and cultivate a sense of belonging at the farm.
