Meet Curly

Face of a sheep with curly horns standing in front of a rainbow-colored shed wall.

You may remember Curly from his operation back in the winter–when we wrapped him in a sleeping bag, made him “get well” cards, and read storybooks to him during his recovery. Curly, also known by some as Charles, is an Angora goat over the age of 6 who lives at Cultivate Care Farms. Although his appearance is reminiscent of a haggard wizard, he is an incredibly friendly and approachable goat. Curly loves when clients scratch him and take him on leash walks. Come say “Hi” to Curly when you stop by the Farm!

Fun Facts about Curly:

  • he walks and runs in a diagonal direction

  • his favorite thing to do is scratch his own back with his twisty-shaped horns

  • his wool can be turned into beautiful champagne-colored yarn

  • he is the father of our Fab Five girl goats: Chani, Ruby, Fern, Juniper and Daisy Pete

  • he gets really dry skin and enjoys a spray and suds during the warm summer months

  • he needs more frequent hoof trims than any other animal at the farm; his hooves grow so quickly they start to resemble plant life if left unattended
